Music Ministry FMBC!
First Missionary Baptist Church has an outstanding music ministry. The
main goal of the music ministry is to edify the body of Christ by
ministering through song so that souls might be saved, healed, delivered
and set free. The purpose of any music ministry should be to help bring
a sense of celebration to the worship of our God, to prompt the
congregation in singing praise to God and support those in the
congregation in their efforts to become creative worshippers, true
worshippers who worship God in spirit and in truth. The music ministry
of FMBC consists of the following: Praise & Worship Team,
Sanctuary Choir, Gospel Choir, Combined Choir and a Youth Ensemble.
Praise & Worship
Team:
The main purpose of the praise & worship team of First Missionary
Baptist Church is to make the atmosphere conducive to worship and
receptive of the word of God. Through praise & worship, the deepest
spiritual needs of the people can be reached.
Sanctuary Choir: The Sanctuary Choir serves as an instrument of
praise to God, through the preparation and ministering of Traditional
Gospel Music. The Sanctuary Choir provides music for worship service on
the 1st Sunday of each month.

Gospel Ensemble:
The Gospel Ensemble serves as an instrument of praise to God, through
the preparation and ministering of Contemporary Music. Participants must
audition with the Minister of Music for this group. The Gospel Ensemble
consist of 12 members that provides music for worship service on the 2nd
and 4th Sunday of each month.
The age range for members of this choir is 19 to 44.
The music ministry of First Missionary Baptist
Church is under the leadership of Damon O. Clark. Damon is married to
the former Belinda J. Simmons and they have one son, Kerrington O.
Clark.
Prior to becoming Minister
of Music, Damon served as head musician of FMBC for 11 years.
Damon Clark also ministers
with Recording Artist Travis Cooper and the Abundant Blessings
Chorale – Durham, NC.
Damon believes the main

Combine Choir
The combine Choir is a combination of All Choirs under the umbrella of
the music ministry. The primary purpose of the combine choir is to serve
as an instrument of praise to God through the preparation and
ministering of music to accompany Pastor Haire he travel and provides
music for the worship service on the fifth Sunday.
Youth Ensemble
The Youth Ensemble serves as an instrument of praise to God, through the
preparation and ministering of Traditional and Contemporary Gospel Music
Remixed so that they are free to give praise to God in their own way.
The Youth Ensemble provides music for worship service on the 3rd Sunday
of each month. The age range for members of this choir is 8 to 18.
